Crew of the HvCFT Antares

The HvCFT Antares belongs to the newest class of ships the Machines have provided and is named after the brightest star in the constellation Scorpius. The Antares is a binary star of which the main component is a red supergiant and an irregular variable. Its name means ‘rival of Mars’, a reference to its similar appearance to the Red Planet. With Ares and Mars being, respectively, the Greek and Roman gods of war, the name was chosen to rival just that – War. As flagship of the Glitch Society, the Antares is focused on non-hostile operations.

Its crew is made up of two old crews, creating a new and diverse crew, carrying a solid mixture of both gender and origin. An experienced crew with the challenge to completely get to know this new brand of hovercraft.

Four of the Antares’ current members have been keeping a journal, feel free to read up on what they’ve been upto in- and outside of the Simulation.

‘Dash looked more confused than ever, first of all he’d ran into the wall after just missing a simulacrum of Gookin, second Dragonram and Procurator were getting along and third… Well that’s just Dash, isn’t it.’

– Dragonram

Dash had always been very eager to learn everything about the Matrix in all its perspectives. In his first months he spent a lot of time within the Simulation studying the beliefs of Redpills working for the different Organizations. After 6 months, Captain Bodeca approached Dash. She was captain of the HvCFT Abscissa; one of five hovercrafts operating within The Glitch Society, a Machinist faction struggling to uphold the Truce between the humans of Zion and the Machines from Zero-One. Soon after being recruited Dash was promoted to First Mate of the Abscissa; Captain Bodeca would say it was ‘a matter of trust’.

Terror struck The Glitch Society shortly after. The Abscissa crashed in a collision with the HvCFT Algorithm, killing all its members except Bodeca and himself. Captain Olink of the Algorithm got wounded badly. After this crash, large numbers of TGS members started to suffer from abscedosis. Therefore Dash took on the responsibility of captaining the Algorithm in Olink’s place, which made him the leading commander. He was to get the faction back up and running like it used to.

To this very day Dash is leading The Glitch Society, promoting its beliefs throughout MegaCity and Zero-One. As captain Procurator of the HvCFT Aggregator once said: ‘Dash is the only leader that actually replies to your questions.’ And that’s how it is: you ask, he replies. Dash is always open to discussion, but whenever necessary he will show the appropriate authority. After all this time he is still very eager to learn and he has a democratic approach when it comes to taking decisions.

‘I always thought Devaude was a sensible person. That was until I saw him drunk anyway!’

– Gookin

Being one the first awakened Redpills after the Truce, Devaude has no good memories of that day. The Zion operatives made a mistake during the procedure and Devaude nearly died. He lost all his memories about his life as Bluepill. The only thing he found out until today was his Blue pill name Hiob Brown.

After the Zionites introduced Devaude to the Matrix, he immediately joined the Machine forces. He is a perfectionist, he loves efficiency, precision and loyalty.

After a short time he joined the military of The Tetragrammaton, where his fighting and physician career started.

Instability came over The Tetragrammaton. At this time Devaude met Captain Globin from The Glitch Society. After watching him and his fighting techniques, Devaude knew he had found a new trainer.

Devaude joined the crew of the HvCFT Assembler. The Assembler was the warship of The Glitch Society, only the best fighters are assigned to it. Soon after his promotion to First Mate of the Assembler, Captain Globin disappeared under mysterious circumstances and was never seen again. D4sh and the Council of The Glitch Society promoted Devaude to Captain of the HvCFT Assembler.

After an incident, which destroyed the Assembler completely, Devaude got demoted and assigned to Captain Dragronram’s ship, the HvCFT Actuator. After the crew reorganisation, Devaude is First Mate and Medical Officer of the HvCFT Antares, the flag ship of The Glitch Society.

‘Zionites say: “Just a machine”. I say: “He has more charisma than most of the humans I know!”’

– Devaude

Dragonram is unique in the Glitch Society in that he is not in fact human, but a program: a ‘Bluepill Memory Program’. The job of a BMP is to store all info and ‘memories’ of Bluepills. When a Bluepill requests information, the program will efficiently search for and supply it.

In the early 2000s, a new version of the BMP was created and found to be faster due to its ability to attach itself to each Bluepill separately, rather than collectively. It was due to this that Dragonram became obsolete and was placed on the list for deletion. During his wait, the War ended and Dragonram was found a new purpose: to work as an operative for the Machines within the Matrix.

Few programs exist today with an age close to his. Few programs were also as lucky as he was, it is for this reason he is considered a devoted, and indeed a valuable asset to the Machine cause.

Dragonram first joined the Glitch Society when the HvCFT Phantom was brought into the fold. He was assigned to operate within that crew, even without a physical presence in the Real. Having proved his worth, Dragonram was promoted to effective captain of the new HvCFT Actuator. However, finding troubles with his own existence Dragonram made a trip to visit the Doctor – An exile specialist. The Doctor managed to save the fragile program, but with radical consequences… Dragonram had changed, and the machines had noticed; after much thought and conflict in his mind he decided to make one of the most challenging decisions of his life… He left The Glitch Society. Hiding in the Merovingian organization with an old friend, Dragonram waited for the attention on him to die down. Eventually it was safe enough to return and he’s back, back for good.

Dragonram seems to have his mind in other places at the moment…

Jade Kyoitsu is no more. No trace of her rather dull existence remains etched in the code. Once upon a time, her footsteps could be discovered throughout Megacity. She was employed by the city government, and had an office in Morrell. Little mementos of her waking dream decorated her cubicle. She had a small but comfortable apartment in the Historic District (it was rent-controlled, thankfully).

For reasons Jade could not grasp, she never could fully appreciate the world around her. Something didn’t add up. Despite this, she tried to live as normal a life as she could. Often in her spare time she’d take the subway to Hampton Green to get sushi at her favorite restaurant, Three Samurai, or stop in at Blue Havana to pick up a pack of clove-cigarettes. Other times she might go for a jog in Center Park. That’s where she first saw him. Most everyone didn’t pay him any mind, but to Jade, he was captivating.

In his time in the Matrix, Morpheus drew a lot of such attention. When Jade saw him, she knew he was somehow different, though she could not understand in what way or how she knew. But what she didn’t realize was that even as she watched him, she was also being watched. When the Operatives of Zion determined that Jade was finally ready to make a choice, they approached her. After an unsettling phone call and an agreement to meet the mysterious voice behind the enigmatic caller-ID of ‘CelestialOverdose’ Jade found herself in an abandoned apartment complex in the worst part of Richland, faced with decision of color. Red… or blue. Blue never looked good on her, anyway.

A highly intelligent woman with a keen business mind, she exists, after awakening, in the Matrix to further her own career, which her awakening had forced her to restart. Far from being resentful of this fact, she sees his at the ultimate opportunity for Monopoly. Far from falling into the Merovingian’s grasp, her Operations are now strictly legitimate and adhered to the Agenda of the Glitch Society, and the Machine Organisation.

Despite her keen mind and inherant streak of flamboyance, she is prone to strong, irrational bouts of paranoia that can hamper or complicate her activities.

Thus far, however, it’s kept her alive.

‘Aaaaaaaah!’

– Han Solo

Mark Renton was born in France, where he became a famous director with movies like ‘L’homme du train’ and ‘Du rififi chez les Sionistes’. In 1999, he came to Megacity to work on his first US project called ‘Ouranos’ – the story of a young man who learns that the world in which he lives isn’t real and that behind the sky live the Machines that control humanity. Zion soon developed an interest in him, and got to him just before the agents could. The captain Wens gave him the redpill and he joined the last city of humanity where he quickly became an important member and eventually the leader of The French Connection (also known as TFC Network or The Next Renaissance).

Like a lot of Post-War new Redpills, he became obsessed with Morpheus and the liberation of the Bluepills. He did a few missions for Morpheus, one of them made him meet with his ex-girlfriend from when he was a Bluepill himself. When she transformed into an Agent he had no choice but to kill her to save his own life. This event changed him, the death of Morpheus was another strike for him and he became more and more angry against the Machines. When The Kid asked the followers of Morpheus to join him with E Pluribus Neo, Ouranos said yes without thinking because of his anger towards the Machines. He became the second in command of the EPN faction under command of GamiSB.

After months of following, Ouranos began to question the leadership capacities of The Kid and if this war was really what he wanted. He met with Agent Pace after he killed an Unlimit lieutenant and she told him something that definitely changed his way of thinking: his girlfriend had a baby boy from him just before he killed her. He began a depression and cut himself from the world, leaving EPN and only coming into the matrix to see a bluepill psychiatrist. When the Truce was broken, Ouranos decided that it was time to do whatever he could to protect the Matrix and his child, that’s when he joined The Glitch Society under d4sh’s command.
