I purchased the game yesterday for PC, and I was so pumped to play.

First impressions, I am very disappointed.
There is only 3 graphic settings, Brightness, Quality, and Resolution which is pathetic for a PC game.
I cranked the settings to 10, which seemed appropriate considering my PC rapes the minimal requirements.
I have a AMD 3500+, ATI X800 Pro, and 2 gigs of RAM.
Textures were missing, but sound was there. The game was unplayable.
So I turned the settings down. First to 9 then 8, then 7, every setting allowing the textures to come back but giving most everything a metallic look.
So I settled on 6, and began to play. Now I don't know if the controls are bad because it's on PC or because I was already so pissed off at the horendus graphics so I will wait to base my opinion after a little more playing time.

All in all though maybe this game was meant for the PS2 and Atari decided not to add more settings. Hmm I wonder why they lost so much money last quarter.
Or maybe my expectations were just to high, even though I did love ETM when I played it on PS2. I think MxO spoiled me a bit too with its beautiful "Matix" graphics.

These are only my FIRST impressions though, so I'll give it another try tonight and see how it plays through. For my lasting impression.

Oh my.. I'm surprised, cause it's by far the best Matrix game I've ever played Razz

I'm at the part after Neo faces Smith in the subway station and runs for an exit before he gets shot in the hallway in M1. The textures are a bit weird, they need to patch the game.

The gameplay and general graphics are really amazing though, and I'm really loving the combat animations.

The one thing I don't like though, is the video clips they've cut together from the movie, in one cinematic they display 50 2-3 seconds long video clips in the wrong order.

I still love slicing up 3 enemies simultaniously with a katana, and to stop bullets in mid-air Wink

Yeah I'm playing it through now. It's not actually that bad, graphic wise.
Are you finding that the audio lags the video though for the movie clips?

Not really, but the voices can get stuck some times, so they say the same thing twice. Not in the cinematics though.

I'm enjoying the game play but I'm still experiencing "weird" graphics, like shadows blacking out entire characters, textures seem glitchy, etc. I'm going to call Atari/Shiny and see if they can help me out.

It's because they need to patch the game.

*EDIT*

They just did: http://www.gamershell.com/download_11496.shtml

Nice I'll give the patch a try. I wonder if the console release of this game was as buggy. I've yet to see it in action.

I just finished it.

There's alot of comedy in the game that the Wachowski's have added, like environments and cinematic parts (and the alternate ending).

Here are the virtual Residual Self Images of Andy and Larry:

Mansion:

I met Ookami at the mansion too, she helped me out of there:

Olink, you are really starting to worry me. How the hell do you finish every game in 2 to 4 days???

Ask Agent Jeeves.

Here's a little video of the most dangerous area in the game (from before the patch, buggy): www.theglitchsociety.com/member/olink/movies/pon.mov

me suspects the pc version was a quickie job. A lot of people have sold their old consoles in anticipation of the new ones.

Probably, but there's really nothing they can't fix in the pc version, the only problem is rendering bugs and voice loops.
