Ok then it is just a case of not enough air flow in the case. So I'll have to get another fan once I drop the credit card a bit.

Well I never fot around to getting an extra fan, unfortunatelly the PC stopped working Monday while I was talking to my girlfriend. It has resisted all attempt to boot it since then, so it looks like my CPU fried that or the MoBo.

Til I can fix it I am back on the old laptop that only just connects me to the internet. so at least I can still be active on the forums.

Oh dear. Sad I think the most likely culprit is the motherboard. It's got more sensitive components on it than I can count. So if you want to fix the machine, buy components piece by piece until it's fixed, returning anything (or selling it on eBay) that doesn't fix the problem. Starting with the mobo.

Well I got my new mobo, decided to get a new case as well.. now I have a problem.... I have put it all together but when I turn it on the grafix card is not getting power and I get continuous short beeps.. according to the troubleshooting guide for the mobo this means there is a power problem.. I have checked all the connections and they seem fine...

So now I have to pull it all apart again and stick it in the old case to see if it is the new power supply or the mobo that is faulty...

/EDIT

Well it seems they sent me a faulty mobo Rolling Eyes so I am going to be out of mxo for a while longer.

/END EDIT

Well they credited me the money and sent a new mobo.. got it all fitted only problem now is that the bios don't show properly. the first part where it tells you to press DEL to enter setup is readable... just.. it has lines all through it. However hit DEL and the screen gets a bit snowy and the text looks more like the matrix code than anything else.

Have to call tech support tomorrow but I think the onboard GFX card is fucked...

Brought a new GFX card when I got the system however it is an AGP card.. and the mobo has an express pci x 16 slot.. which according to the manual for the GFX card should be ok.. but the bugger won't work. Evil or Very Mad

So I am starting to get MxO withdrawal Confused

The manual says an AGP card will work in a PCI-e slot? Eh, that can't be right. Confused It won't even fit!

I know.. I had to read it 3 times because the card just did NOT look right for the PCI e slot.. Been putting pc's together long enough to know the difference between PCI and AGP. Apart from the obvious difference the AGP card is a hell of a lot longer than the PCI.

The only thing I can think of is that the manufacturer messed up and put a PCI manual in the box instead of an AGP

/EDIT
N00b alert!!

Oops My bad... misread the manual.. requires a PCIEx16 BASED mobo with an AGP slot

I forgot to check what GFX card the mobo could take and spent £60 on the WRONG type. Rolling Eyes

/EDIT
