My right hand, that is.

>_>
<_<

Heh, as a follow up to this thread, tomorrow I'm going into hospital for another operation on my hand!

This time it's to free my fingers. The wrist is fine (it doesn't move, which was the intention believe it or not), but my fingers haven't been able to extend properly ever since the operation. I'm blaming the surgeon(s) - I bet they buggered up somehow but won't admit it. At the moment my fingers are basically curved up into half a fist. I can still write, but I'm lucky I can use a mouse at all!

So anyway, I'll probably be extra quiet for a week or so while I recover. I'll post as soon as I can with a status update. Smile

I'll ignore all the obvious comments poppin' up and just say I hope they'll be able to properly fix it this time. Looking forward to a positive update, did they give any indication as to how long the revalidation will take? (assuming the week you mentioned would just be the start of it, while the pain 'gently' flows away.)

I did deliberately name this thread the way I did. Wink

Thanks for the well wishes guys! Smile Just reporting in. Operation went fine apparently, and I'm not in pain this time (though I don't recall the 'total agony' I mentioned last time) 'cos they've completely numbed my arm. It'll probably be sore tomorrow, mind.

Recovery will be quite different this time. Whereas last time I had to stay in hospital overnight and was then bedridden at home for four days, I'm already home and feeling fine. I'll take it easy for a few days, but pop online every now and then. And I'll still be one-handed for five weeks or so, but the heavy splint comes off next Thursday.

Nice going, good to hear! Smile Being one-handed isn't too bad, I've had my share (fingertips between doors and stuff) and eventually you'll get used to it for as long as it takes. Of course, with your previous operation you've experienced it already as well. We'll just be here waiting for new updates, I guess. :p Glad today's operation went well, hopefully Thursday's heavy splint-adventure will pay off too.

May I suggest not using the splint to do... other things. Might get a bit messy. =P

Glad it all went well Cap'n. We need to catch up soon!

...Well, SOMEONE had to.

But glad to hear everything went well. Now you can get back to what you're best at, eh?

Nope, just stuck with the NHS, blast them.

Heh, forgot to say that I'm almost back to normal now. Had the plaster cast taken off the other day, but rather than being stuck in a splint for a few weeks like last time, I currently only have a dressing over the scars. So a much quicker recovery this time. Smile

Now to re-train my fingers how to move...
