Hey Everyone

I was poking around the official MxO site, however it didn't really answer my questions, and I happened to see a link to your site from one of the recruitment threads on the boards.

I'm a huge MMO player (been playing for 7 years+), I have a long history in EQ, and currently WoW. I consider myself to be a hardcore gammer and am always looking for a great MMO to play. I'm a huge fan of the Matrix films and at the moment WoW isn't exactly stimulating at the moment. So I decided to ask a few questions before I go out and buy MxO.

1) What do you like most about MxO, and what do you like least about MxO?

2) I do enjoy the leveling process, however I'm an end gammer kind of guy. What type of content is there for the high end gammers? Do you have raids, bosses, etc?

3) I do PvP from time to time, but it's not exactly something I'm deeply interested in. Are there any unique pvp features that would make it fun compared to other MMO's?

4) From what I gathered there are only 3 classes, am I correct in this statement? Secondly, which classes seem to be dime a dozen and which ones are played less frequently?

Thank you for your time guys! Smile

4) Three Classes...persay. The three main classes would be Operative, Hacker, Coder. But each Class has subclasses which are wholly different from one another in many respects.

ie. Operative -
Duelist, (Dual Handgun Specialist)
Rifleman, (Rifle and Shotgun Specialist)
SMG, (Dual SMG Specialist)
Karate, (no explanation needed)
Aikido,
Kung Fu,
Shadow, (Spy/Evader/thief type of tree)
Knife Thrower, (Knife throwing and sneak attacks)
Assassin, (Specialist in sneak attacks)
Data Miner (Dumbass)

Hi Skatt I will not got into question 4. since Zampano covered the eloquently. but as he said each or the 3 main classes subdivides into a lot more classes than I am going to bruise my fingers writing about. :p

1) The community... Unlike communities in some of the other games Ihave played this one is on the whole VERY friendly and helpful. Act like a moron and the majority of the older longer standing players and factions will simply choose to have nothing to do with you.

2)As for end game.. Sony add new missions and content quite regularly for all levels. As for end game.. well Unless it has been nerfed Pandora's box part 4 would come closest to the raids in games such as WoW the final part of that mission will or used to require at least 3 full teams to stand a chance of beating it.

3) The syntax server at least (Can't speak for the others) have a very high RP contingent though not exclusively so, a fair amount of PvP and RPPvP can also be found.

If you want to try it without buying first I would suggest downloading the trial version from sony and posting back here when you have it and myself or someone else can send you a 7 day free trial key. I think I still have one left.

I see what you're saying, there's 3 Class Types, but each of those have their own subset of classes that are more specialized in certain skills.

After reading Bittype's response, another question comes to mind. What do you guys do on a regluar night of playing? Does everyone get together and just PvP, or do some other guild activity? Do you raid? Again I'm used to the traditional MMO style of You log on, and raid from 7pm-12pm, and farm items/gear etc. From what it looks like MxO seems to be a bit different, one notion that leads me to believe this is that your site as well as other MxO guild sites do not have any mention of a DKP system.

I think I may give the trail version a start! You guys are on the Syntax server correct?

Yeah Syntax ftw!!! Heehee, I highly suggest the trial version, and stick with it, things might seem slow but as you advance it gets reall quite addictive Wink.

As for what we do on a regular night, if there's not any live event going on (that we know of) we usually just hang around, do missions to help you level, have an all around good time and a good laugh. Basically, if you want to do it ( as long as it's nothing horrible or just plain idiotic that's going to annoy others way Razz ) we go along with you! Very Happy

As far as the PvP goes... You can pretty much find that any time of day at Mara Central..

Or you can got to the Archives in which case you are automatically PvP enabled until you leave.
Also there are regular parties in the clubs around Mega City. And as Drag said If there isn't a live event or party we hang, do missions etc, or do the Pandora's box missions most of which can not be soloed unless you happen to be lvl 50 doing the lower lvl ones.
Genarely we tend to hang, mission, etc, and if you need help with a mission dungeon or boss... just ask.
